Larissa Golden Brown is a consultant and expert on foundation grants for nonprofits. Larissa helps nonprofits in the Pacific Northwest streamline and maximize their grant seeking. In 10 years in the field, she has helped small and mid-sized nonprofits raise more than 300 grants for projects ranging from the very first staff at a new social service agency to a dramatic new building for Portland Opera.
Her past employers and consulting clients include the Oregon Children’s Foundation (SMART program), The Salvation Army Cascade Division, the City Club of Portland, and the Oregon State Library Talking Book & Braille Services. Most recently, she has focused on arts, culture, and literacy, including work with the Portland Classical Chinese Garden, p:ear, Portland Waldorf School, Portland Opera, and The Library Foundation. She has conducted trainings for the Regional Arts & Culture Council and presented at various conferences and symposia including the American Association of Grant Professionals annual conference.
Larissa served for five years on the board of the Willamette Valley Development
Officers, a professional resource organization with more than 700 members. In addition to WVDO, Larissa is a charter member of the American Association of Grant Professionals. Her volunteer work has included board service with Orlo, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to exploring environmental issues through the arts; volunteer service
as a grant reviewer for the United Way of the Columbia Willamette; and three years as a panelist for the Oregon Governor’s Award for Community Partnerships.
